DAN’s John-Paul MacCormick joins Pedestrian Group as general manager, operations

The exits are continuing at Dentsu Aegis Network, with Columbus’ NSW general manager, John-Paul MacCormick leaving the business for Pedestrian Group.

MacCormick will be the Nine-owned publisher’s general manager of operations, responsible for revenue streams outside of the core partnership team, including e-commerce and programmatic advertising.

MacCormick announced his new role on LinkedIn

MacCormick had been with Columbus, which sits under the Merkle banner, for over six years, with a year and a half of that as general manager.

MacCormick’s departure follows that of Rebecca Tos, Merkle’s ANZ MD, and the exit of DAN’s CEO, Henry Tajer, two months ago.

In his new role with Pedestrian Group, MacCormick will lead the group in cross company functions such as technology, people and culture.

Pedestrian’s CEO, Matt Rowley, said MacCormick’s experience in the industry made him the perfect candidate for the position.

“This role and JP’s managerial skill sets within it are perfect for the Pedestrian Group as we continue to evolve and scale. I believe his digital commercial expertise will enable us to further diversify our lines of business. We’re super excited to have him on board.”

MacCormick said he was ‘thrilled’ to be making the jump to Pedestrian Group.

“I’m thrilled to join the talented Pedestrian Group team and their epic family of brands. As leaders in their field, I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective to the business and accelerate their growth through a commercial and operational lens.”

MacCormick steps into the role effective immediately. Pedestrian’s founders, Chris Wirasinha and Oscar Martin, left the business 10 months ago, with Rowley stepping into the CEO position.
