Dave Collins announces head of strategy promotion at Droga5 Melbourne
Former strategy director at The Monkeys, Dave Collins, has revealed that he is now the head of strategy at Droga5 Melbourne.
Collins made the announcement of his promotion in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday evening.
“In case you missed the big news, The Monkeys is now officially Droga5 ANZ,” he wrote.
“In medium-sized news, I’m now the Head of Strategy of Droga5 Melbourne. In smaller news, Savoy biscuits have been added to the Droga5 snacks roster.”
A long-time brand strategist, Collins worked as a senior strategist and strategy director at The Monkeys between July 2020 and December 2024, before The Monkeys was officially folded into Droga5’s operations – a move that saw its chief executive officer (CEO) and co-founder, Mark Green, appointed as Droga5’s global CEO, prompting a relocation to New York.

Prior to his stint at The Monkeys, Collins served as a senior strategist at brand development agency, Interesting Development, in New York. He also spent just over four years at Clemenger’s CHE Proximity – which eventually rebranded itself into the now known CHEP Network in early 2022 – which he joined as an account coordinator in March 2015.
During his time at the advertising agency, Collins also served as an account executive, account manager and strategist.

Collins’ post comes on the same day that Droga5 announced that it had picked up Joe Sibley and Hugh Gurney as executive creative directors. Gurney’s, Sibley’s and Green’s appointments are not the only business moves the Accentrue Song-owned agency has made this year.
In October, in the wake of the news that The Monkeys would become Droga5, Accenture Song revealed that Matt Michael would step in as CEO of Droga5 for New Zealand and Australia, effective December 1, after serving as its managing director for over a decade. Bronwyn van der Merwe was named as lead of Accenture Song.
