Dave McCaughan leaves McCann after 28 years
Austtralian agency veteran Dave McCaughan, the long-serving regional head of research at McCann, is moving on from the agency after almost three decades of service.
McCaughan moved from Tokyo, where he was regional planning director, to a role as MD of the Hong Kong office in addition to his regional research duties in November 2013.
Over a 28-year spell with the agency, he has worked as national planning director at McCann Sydney, president of McCann Thailand and GM of McCann Tokyo as well as his most recent position.
At the start of this year, McCann Hong Kong rebranded to McCann & Spencer to reflect the market clout of CEO and creative chief Spencer Wong, and is bringing in the director of client services at TBWA\Tequila Hong Kong Florence Wai-Kwan Kong as general manager next month. Also moving to McCann’s Hong Kong office is regional planning director Richard McCabe, who relocates from Singapore to join the McCann & Spencer management line-up.
Not a bad run for a bloke who started out as the agency librarian.
Well done, Dave.
