Celebrated marketer David Elsworth has returned to Australia after 14 years and taken an a part time role as board director at Sydney agency Wonder.

Elsworth was most recently senior vice president at Coca-Cola Japan. During the nine years he was at Coca-Cola, Elsworth led creative development and implementation of international advertising campaigns for core brands including Coca-Cola and Sprite. He was also responsible for the ‘The Coke Side of Life’ campaign.

Wonder, established four years ago, specialises in experiential marketing, sponsorship leverage and branded content.

Glen Condie, founder and creative director of Wonder said: “David will challenge our team and clients in many ways, working both on our business and in it, to push us hard and make us better. We have made the decision to significantly grow the business, investing in really high quality people and at the same time investing in the coaching of the current team.”

Elsworth said in a statement: “I didn’t want to totally retire from the business,” he said. “There is only so much skiing and surfing to be done and to drop out completely means missing so much I enjoy about working in the industry. Coming home, no matter what you’ve done in that past, you start from ground zero and I like that. I really like what Wonder is doing, it’s unconventional but also focused on making things happen. More action less talk, that’s what clients want. I’m really looking forward to the challenge with Wonder.”
