DDB Group Sydney adds to creative team
DDB Group Sydney has added eight new members to their creative team.
The announcement:
DDB Group Sydney continues to strengthen the calibre of the creative department with the addition of a wealth of local talent.
Dylan Harrison, DDB Group Sydney’s Executive Creative Director says, “new talent and the inspiration and vitality they bring are the lifeblood of a creative department. I’m delighted off the back of our continued business success to welcome these players in the next chapter of our evolution as an agency.”
Eight new creatives hired. Not a single woman amongst them. That’s something I would do quietly, not shout to the world about.
No old people either.
Diversity? Really? As a young female copywriter, I despair sometimes about our industry. I have big ambitions, I believe in advertising, I crave role models and mentors… but where are the women? I’m sure all these guys are brilliant – well done to them – and this isn’t about DDB but every creative department in every agency… but nevertheless, given evidence like this, it’s hard not to develop a negative attitude. There’s plenty else I could do, other than being an agency creative. Please, someone tell me I’m not wasting my time.
