Deadpool 2 returns to the top of the weekend box office, earning a further $3.569m

Deadpool 2, 20th Century Fox’s film based on Marvel Comics’ wisecracking mercenary played by Ryan Reynolds, has taken back the number one weekend box office spot, knocking the latest spin-off Star Wars movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story, into second place.

In its third week in the box office, Deadpool 2 earned $3.569m, just beating Solo: A Star Wars Story’s $3.495m.

Solo: A Star Wars Story entered the box office with $6.612m while Deadpool achieved more than $12m in earnings when it debuted.

Avengers: Infinity War managed to hold its third spot with $868,413 for its seventh week in the box office.

Meanwhile Warner Bros’ Life of the Party starring Melissa McCarthy remained in its fourth position as it managed an earning of $455,263.
