Deb Richards appointed Ausfilm CEO
Deb Richards has been appointed as Ausfilm’s new CEO, starting today.
” [Richards] is an acknowledged communications expert with a network that extends throughout the media industry and across the political spectrum. Her exceptional leadership and relationship building skills will be critical to Ausfilm’s capacity to further enhance Australia’s position as a leading global destination for screen production,” said Ausfilm Chairman Alaric McAusland.
Richards is a former CEO of the Australian Subscription Television and Radio Association (ASTRA), and she previously spent 13 years with ACMA and the ABC. She is also a member and director of The Communications & Media Law Association (CAMLA), vice-president of the Australian chapter of The Institute of Communications (IIC) and a member of the Advertising Beverage Advertising Code (ABAC) adjudication panel.
Richards will be based at Ausfilm’s Sydney offices.
Lets hope that Richards can lift Ausfilm out of the formularised guff that McAusland put out there. Nobody listens to that self-serving polysyllabism.
