Deluxe expands Method Studios

Visual effects group Method Studios have announced three new facilities in Australia, in adddition to their already established network of studios in Los Angeles, Vancouver, New York and London.

The expansion comes via a new commercial facility at Sydney’s Walsh Bay, the Deluxe owned and operated post-production house based in Melbourne, formerly known as MRPPP, and acquiring CIS-Postmodern, a VFX studio in Lane Cove.

Stefan Sonnenfeld, President of Deluxe Creative Services announced in a statement, “Uniting our Australian visual effects businesses under the Method Studios brand paves the way for those creative facilities to work together even more synergistically. It’s our plan to continue to increase the level of collaboration among all the creative facilities within Deluxe’s global network to further benefit our clients both creatively and financially wherever they may be.”

Method Group Australia will share resources with their US facitilies who recently won VES and AICP awards for “Halo Reach: Deliver Hope” (VES award winner for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Live Action Commercial and AICP Visual Effects award winner) directed by Noam Murro.  Other recent commercial work includes Kia “Share Some Soul” directed by Mark Romanek and Verizon “Arena” for director Noam Murro.

Worldwide, Method are currently working on feature films Clash of the Titans 2 (dir: Jonathan Liebesman),  J. Edgar (dir: Clint Eastwood), Dark Shadows (dir: Tim Burton) and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (dir: Timur Bekmambetov)

Method Australia’s feature visual effects division will be located in Lane Cover with the other Deluxe companies, EFilm and Stage One.
