Dentsu Aegis appoints acquisition specialist Victoria Gehrig
Dentsu Aegis has created a new role specialising in streamlining the acquisition and integration of purchased agencies as the group embarks on an “aggressive growth and M&A strategy”.
Victoria Gehrig, former national general manager for Isobar Australia, will take on the new role which will see her managing the group’s growth and helping onboard new acquisitions.
Reporting directly to Simon Ryan, Gehrig will also be in charge of “pursuing identified targets”.
“The new role of head of acquisition integration will play a significant role within this market as we continue to build capability and accelerate our growth strategy,” Ryan said.
“With six acquisitions made in the last 18 months and five more in the immediate pipeline, effective integration is critical to our client offering.”
He said Gehrig had developed a strong understanding successful acquisitions in her role at Isobar.
“Victoria’s long history within the network, and her strong contribution on several network acquisitions at Isobar made her a natural choice for this role. I congratulate Victoria and look forward to working closely on evolving and accelerating our dynamic M&A strategy.”
Gehrig played a key role in the acquisition and integration of both Soap Creative and With Collective when they were bought by Dentsu.
The company said there were a number of other acquisition projects currently underway.
Gehrig said: “I’m thrilled to be taking this role that sits at the very forefront of our growth strategy, and eagerly await the challenges and opportunities as I lead the network through several new acquisitions this year.”
They haven’t really bought anything good IMHO. I imagine they will scoop up some “digital/techie” firms to plump their numbers. But there are only a few real quality firms there. Let’s see what they purchase. But I reckon the answer will be “who?”
