Dentsu Mitchell’s national MD Adrian Roeling named as Amplifi president
Dentsu Auegis Network has named Adrian Roeling as its new president of its media investment and partnership division Amplifi.
The promotion means Dentsu Mitchell is now on the hunt for a national managing director, with Simon Ryan, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network ANZ assuming executive responsibilities until a replacement is found.
Roeling’s appointment to Amplifi comes one week after former president Greg Brown departed.
Roeling has been the national managing director at Dentsu Mitchell for more than two years and flagged exciting changes in the industry.
“I’ve worked in the media industry through some of its most significant transformations and I know there are many more exciting changes to come.
“There has never been a better time to take up the mantle as president of Amplifi and I am proud to be leading the team responsible for making the most of these opportunities,” Roeling said in a statement.
Ryan said Roeling was the “perfect person” to lead Amplifi.
“A highly respected and inclusive leader, Adrian is the perfect person to lead Amplifi through its next phase of growth, ensuring Amplifi continues to deliver value and innovation to our clients through collaboration and partnership with our brands,” he said.
Earlier in October, Amplifi also announced the former chief investment officer at Carat, Ashley Earnshaw, as its new chief investment officer, who will now report into Roeling.
Alex Pekish, the head of investment for Amplifi ANZ, will also report into Roeling.
Ryan said the search for Roeling’s replacement would be global and extensive with general manager for Dentsu Melbourne, Corina Cosma, and general manager of government services, Penny Davy-Whyte to co-lead Dentsu Mitchell for the interim.
Amplifi employs more than 4,500 people globally and claims four areas of specialisation: investment, media partnerships, Amnet (programmatic buying platform) and The StoryLab (premium content division).
… as Australia’s largest media agency group, (depending on which stats you use) surely a worldwide search for Adrian’s replacement is a a waste of time, resource and money. If you guys aren’t managing your top talent to fill roles like this when they become available then you really should 🙂
