Diplomat mag set for relaunch
Australian foreign affairs title The Diplomat Magazine is to undergo a relaunch and a major boost to its print run.
The seven-year-old quarterly title – which will relaunch with its September issue – will also expand its distribution channels of Asia Pacific hotels and airport lounges.
It will distribute 25,000 copies instead of its current 13,500.
Editor Ian Gerrard said: “We have the opportunity to appeal to readers across the whole region. By covering the stories and tackling the issues that the next generation of leaders and decision-makers are most interested in, we are ideally placed to reflect and inform generational attitudes within this Asia Pacific Century.”
The Diplomat magazine is published by Syndey-based Diplomat Media.
They’re relaunching in print format…sort of like leading a dead horse to water

We actually have a pretty ambitious online track incorporated into the re-launch, including a bloggers network (we have a blogger on the ground in Tehran), videocasts (with World Bank), podcasts (interviews with the likes of Desmond Tutu & Anwar Ibrahim) and digital editions in both Japanese and Mandarin.
So I take your point, but there’s more to it than just a print-only re-do!
