Direct Group acquires Reader’s Digest business in Australia and New Zealand
Multi-channel direct marketing and media company Direct Group has acquired the Reader’s Digest business in Australia and New Zealand.

Reader’s Digest has been operating in Australia and NZ for over 70 years and publishes and distributes the Reader’s Digest and Handyman magazines and also has a business marketing books, CDs, DVDs and other home entertainment products, along with vitamins, insurance and general merchandise.
The acquisition was completed at the end of last year and has seen the MD of the business in Asia Pacific, Walter Beyleveldt become the GM of Direct Publishing with responsibility for publishing Reader’s Digest and Handyman magazines in Australia and New Zealand.
“We look forward to working with the Reader’s Digest team”? Only the few left after the majority were made redundant…
I don’t think there’s enough staff remaining to make up a ‘team’.
