Disney’s $19.4m media account to remain with Denstu Aegis Network

Disney will keep its muti-million-dollar media account with Denstu Aegis Network.

Mumbrella understands, however, that instead of sitting within DAN agency Carat, the account will be serviced by a bespoke agency created from resources across the group, much like the Woolworths@DAN arrangement.

Disney’s media planning and buying will be conducted by DAN

Carat retained the account in 2015 after a pitch battle with PHD.

A DAN spokesperson told Mumbrella: “Dentsu Aegis Network can confirm it has successfully retained the Disney account, defending and growing a client it has proudly represented for nine years.”

For the past 12 months, Nielsen Ad Intel reports the estimated media spend of Disney was $19.4m.

In recent weeks Carat has lost a few key clients, including the $40m Mondelēz International account, which moved to Group M’s Mindshare.

Amart Furniture’s $20m account also moved from Carat Brisbane to Ikon last month.

Last year, music streaming service Pandora appointed Carat in March, but by June, it announced it was closing down. Pandora exited the market officially in July 2017.

The agency has had some wins to counter-balance the losses, securing the $10m Beacon Lighting account in March, the Event Hospitality and Entertainment account in February, and the CBRE business just under a year ago.

It also retained the L’Oreal account last year.
