Australian Survivor tops demos as the most watched non-news program for Thursday TV

Ten’s reality game show Australian Survivor was the most watched non-news program for Thursday’s TV ratings, managing 664,000 metro viewers.

According to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings, Australian Survivor was the most watched program across key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Airing at 7.30pm, The program saw a slight dip from last Thursday’s episode shedding 49,000 viewers.

Competing against Ten’s Australian Survivor was Seven’s reality show The Single Wives, which didn’t make it into the top 20 shows programmed for Thursday TV.

Meanwhile Nine’s Thursday night NRL game – which only aired in Sydney and Brisbane – saw 438,000 tune in across the two states.

Seven News was the most watched program for the evening despite not managing to crack 1m viewers with 992,000. Comparatively, Nine News obtained 856,000 viewers across the five metro cities.

Nine won Thursday’s TV battle with a 21.3% overall audience share, clearly ahead of Seven’s 16%, Ten’s 13.7%, ABC’s 10.3% and SBS’ 6.3% share.

For the multichannel networks, 7TWO had the highest overall share with 4.9%.
