Domain hands creative account to Howatson+Co

Domain Group has named Howatson + Company as its new creative agency of record for its flagship brand, following a competitive pitch process.

The indie agency takes over the remit previously held by DDB, with Howatson+Co now handling brand and creative services as well as additional enablement of marketing technology and customer experience, as the platform accelerates its personalisation capability.

Rebecca Darley, chief marketing officer, Domain Group said: “We thoroughly enjoyed the process with Howatson+Company, who demonstrated strong capability to deliver on our ambitious customer vision and brand evolution. I’m very passionate about strategic business partnering and I’m thrilled to have the H+Co team work alongside our teams to elevate our capability even further, bringing to life our marketplace strategy.”

Chris Howatson, founder and CEO, Howatson+Company added: “This is a proud moment for H+Co. We were inspired by Domain’s vision, their expansive ecosystem of property services and the kindness and ambition of their people. To join their team is a privilege”.

The first account win of the year for Howatson+Company follows up a year of significant growth for the independent agency, having also picked up MYOB, GMHBA, The Guardian, TK Maxx, UNSW Sydney, Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, Petbarn and more in 2022.

The agency appointed its first head of people and culture in November, as it continues to grow past the 100 mark between its Sydney and Melbourne offices.

Last month, Howatson+Company’s chief creative officer Levi Slavin departed the business, and left adland, to focus on a new project. Slavin’s role will not be replaced, with his remit to be shared across ECDs Gavin Chimes, Richard Shaw and Jeremy Hogg.

Since the departure of Slavin, the agency has brought in another manager partner, Kristie Thistlethwaite, to help lead the Sydney office.
