Domain launches new series ‘The Circle’, featuring Melbourne and Sydney couples moving to Noosa

Domain has launched the trailer for its new content series ‘The Circle’ which features two couples, one from Melbourne and another from Sydney, who move to Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The latest series follows from the Avalon Now project two years ago and is part of Domain’s wider transformation as it separates from parent company Fairfax.

Produced by Hamish Roxburgh and Felix Williamson, the one minute trailer opens in black and white with the Melbourne couple sitting in a ‘hispter’ bedroom with beanies on as the man says “Melbourne’s depressing” as the woman replies “Melbourne’s character building”.

Cutting to the Sydney couple sitting in bed in singlets, the woman says “I think I hate Bondi” while the man says “we are too old for this”.

The trailer then starts in colour, showing Noosa residents, swimming, running and drinking wine in the sun.

As the trailer continues the Sydney and Melbourne couple meet their new Hibiscus Circle neighbours who talk about having an affair and being a bachelor again.

The Circle commences streaming on Domain from October 8.

Domain posted a synopsis of the series to its website: “What do you do when you’ve outgrown your tiny shoebox apartment in a city you can’t afford? Trade in your monochrome wardrobe for a silk sarong and head north for a better life.

“Welcome to Hibiscus Circle, Noosa – or is it Nooosa? One traffic light, zero nightlife and a whole lot of culture-shock.

“Domain follows the trials and triumphs of two cosmopolitan couples as they try to find their way in ‘paradise’.”

Melina Cruickshank, chief editorial and marketing officer at Domain, will be speaking at Mumbrella’s Publish Summit on ‘How Funny News Became Big Business. Tickets are still available.
