Donation not-for-profit GIVIT seeks pro-bono creative support

The donation not-for-profit, GIVIT, is seeking pro-bono creative support to assist the organisation in developing a campaign that inspires people to donate.

The announcement:

Who is GIVIT:

GIVIT is a not-for-profit donation platform that matches generosity with genuine need. Channelling generosity to where it’s most needed, GIVIT supports vulnerable people and communities all over Australia.

Working with more than 4,600 support organisations across Australia, we get people what they need when they need it most – whether recovering from an emergency event, or experiencing hardship due to a natural disaster, domestic and family violence, homelessness, disability, and mental ill health.

GIVIT captures offers of goods and services online, removing the need for charities and services to sort, store and dispose of unrequested donations, saving valuable resources. 100% of publicly donated money received by GIVIT to support people in need is used to purchase essential items and services.

What we do:

GIVIT works as a government partner for donation management during natural disaster recovery. Following the most recent flooding disaster across parts of Queensland and New South Wales, GIVIT has coordinated the donation of more than 328,000 items in just three months, getting essential items to people who have lost everything. GIVIT will be working with these communities for many years to assist in this recovery.

GIVIT also has dedicated programs to support Indigenous Australians, people experiencing family and domestic violence, homelessness, and hardship due to COVID-19, disability, and mental ill health.

GIVIT is growing:

We recently reached five million donations after a period of rapid growth. After taking 10 years to coordinate our first one million donations, the last few years have seen us coordinate the donation of one million items on average every six months. Requests for help on the GIVIT platform have doubled since the beginning of the pandemic and the needs across the nation have never been greater.

GIVIT relies on government contracts and corporate support to cover our operational costs. This allows us to honour our commitment to using 100% of publicly donated money to purchase essential items for people in need. Since we began in 2009, GIVIT has never actively asked the public to donate to our operational costs.

As we grow, we need help to build our capacity to continue our important work.

Our request:

GIVIT aims to run a matched giving campaign in late August in collaboration with corporate partners. This will encourage the public to donate towards our operational costs, with corporate partners matching these donations.

GIVIT is calling on the Australian creative industry for pro-bono creative support to assist us in developing an engaging concept and campaign that inspires people to donate.

Benefits of working with us:

Aside from a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing you’ve helped support thousands of Aussies in need – GIVIT will promote the partnership through digital marketing and social media to our audience of more than 85,000 Australians, including corporate and government partners, the charities we work with and our generous donors.
