DR MUMBO: Mia Twitters; behind the scenes at the news; Underbelly ad angst
Dr Mumbo is delighted to welcome Mia Freedman to the world of Twitter – and it’s all thanks to her pals at Droga5.
The former Cosmo editor, who now occasionally works with the start up ad agency, Twittered (of course): “Beautiful dinner last night at Droga. Appreciated my Twitter101 education. Ready to rock and roll.”
You can follow her at http://twitter.com/miafreedman . And if you haven’t done so yet, you can also follow Mumbrella at http://twitter.com/mumbrella .
This clip has been racing up the viral videos chart. Dr Mumbo is sure that much the same goes on during A Current Affair:
Underbelly may have delivered a record audience, but the viewers don’t appreciate the ads. One writes to the letters page of the Sydney Morning Herald today: “The programme started 12 minutes late (we all know why) at 8.42pm and finished at 10.38pm, a total of 116 minutes. During this period, 81 advertisements were shown. Is it any wonder people are getting sick of commercial television?”
That clown who watched Underbelly sure seems to have been very prepared to write to the SMH even before Underbelly went to air. They obviously had a stop-watch and a pen and paper in hand from the outset. It’s amazing that they thought that the ads were intrusive, but all that clock-watching and writing things down wasn’t!
Dude – a word of advice. Sit back and enjoy the programme! Ads are the price you pay for not handing over any of your hard-earned.
Of course, there is no way it could have been someone from another network.
