Droga5 launches campaign for Virgin Blue’s new check-in service
Virgin Blue is launching a campaign to promote its new mobile check-in service, Check-mate.
The ad, created by Droga5, shows how consumers now have time to do other things during their working day by being able to check in for flights on their Blackberry or at mobile.virginblue.com.au.
The service is available for flights between Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Last year, Virgin Blue launched a TV campaign designed to position it as the airline that changed the face of Australian air travel.
Since when did Droga 5 and Virgin Blue invent Vanilla?

No idea why this piqued my attention – possibly the vanilla comment, but there’s 75 seconds of film with people in just about every shot here. I could be wrong but I counted three people who aren’t white. Is this a true reflection of multi-cultural Australia? Just saying.

Hmmm, I kinda yawned all through that. Somewhere along the line the fun has gone out of this idea. Badminton, chess, knitting??
Would like to have seen more irreverence and silliness in the workplace – placing a whoopee cushion under someones butt, scanning faces in the photocopier, pouring salt into a sugar tin etc etc.

I thought what the hell are all the Virgin Blue office workers doing … making model planes, potting, playing bandminton?!?! How does that benefit me as the customer or prospective customer? Surely there isn’t an office somewhere in Australia that consists just of VB flyers all goofing off.

great new idea, glad I did not pay for the TVC, but when I recently tried to get seat allocation via computer ( I know I’m old fashioned) from adelaide virgin blue systyem would not work.

Funny – I thought that the second ad said ‘of all our great ideas, the best was to make it possible for POOR people to fly’ – haha
