Dust & Glory Ltd partner with Blue Star Ent.
Dust & Glory Ltd have partnered with American-based Blue Star Entertainment to produce Australian adventure film Dust and Glory. The deal was brought together by associate producer Zach Green, who has worked with both companies in the past.
The film, based on the Evan Green novel of the same name, is the story of the 1950s Redex off road trials, covering 10,000 miles around Australia and focused on the rivalry between an American hotshot and an Australian legend.
The film is written by Robert Galinsky (Prey) and produced by Galinsky, Elizabeth Howatt-Jackman (Hating Alison Ashley, Prey) and David Parker (Malcolm, The Big Steal, Matching Jack) with executive producer Geoffrey Edelsten.
Blue Star recently produced Role Models, Middle Men and Bangkok Dangerous as well as Darkness Falls, shot in Australia.
Blue Star’s Jason Shuman said in a statement “This is a fantastic script and a great story combining two things I love, classic race cars and the Australian landscape. We are thrilled to be returning Down Under.”
The script is currently out to directors and cast in advanced negotiations. The film will begin production in early 2012.

I am really looking forward to this movie as my dad was Possum Kipling who led the 53 Redex trial until he broke a ubolt about 1 mile from the finish line after leading the trial and I have his engraved gold Omega watch which was pesented to him by General Motors Holden after the trial. I also have many photos and newspaper clippings. Dad was a great friend of Evan Green and whenever he and Gelignite Jack used to come through Port Wakefield they would always call in to see Dad and reminisce about the Redex Trials
