The announcement:

MEDIA LAWYER STEPHEN VON MUENSTER TO PRESENT WEBINAR TO HELP IMAA MEMBERS NAVIGATE LEGAL COMPLEXITIES OF COVID-19

The Independent Media Agencies of Australia’s (IMAA) next free webinar features well known media lawyer, Stephen von Muenster to help members navigate the legal complexities of COVID-19.

Von Muenster, the Principal of DVM Law, will host the webinar, as independent media agencies work hard to retain staff on often reduced hours and salaries as the pandemic continues to affect the advertising landscape.

Von Muenster has specialised in advertising, communications, marketing, promotions, PR and media law since 1998. He is legal counsel for The Communications Council, the Point-of-Purchase Advertising International Association, the Public Relations Council and the Media Federation of Australia and is a guest lecturer at the University of Sydney and UTS.

The webinar will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday 22 April 2020 for IMAA members.

The IMAA launched the series of free professional advice webinars to provide expert guidance and strategies to help its members navigate the financial, legal, economic and HR complexities as a result of COVID-19.

The first three webinars featured Marc Walsh from Altus Financial on government stimulus packages; Sky News commentator Paul Murray on the economic landscape; and how Facebook is managing its remote teams through COVID-19 with Harry Lowes and Ashley Jenkins.

“Harry and Ashley from Facebook provided our members with some great tips on how to engage staff remotely including keeping communication regular and sending a Friday wrap up of the week concentrating on highlights, creating a WhatsApp group with your staff and appointing a staff member to be a ‘social director’. We are all learning to adapt to new working from home measures and their advice was very timely,” the IMAA said.

The IMAA has several events and training programs under development, that will be announced in coming months.
