Dynamic Duos: Turning a shared vision into a podcasting powerhouse
This week in Dynamic Duos, we hear from Kind Regards Network's co-founders Alex Jae and Megan Pustetto.
In Dynamic Duos, Mumbrella each week asks two colleagues with a professional and personal affiliation to share with readers the importance of workplace relationships in an increasingly hybridised world of work.
Alex Jae:
When I think about my relationship with Megan, it feels like the perfect example of how small the world of podcasting really is. We’d been orbiting each other’s work for years – crossing paths through mutual connections, overlapping projects, and the sort of serendipitous crossovers that only happen when two people are destined to collaborate. Our shared love of podcasting was the initial spark, but it didn’t take long before I realised there was something deeper in the way we worked together.
Before we ever talked about launching a business, we tested the waters on a few smaller projects. Those experiences gave me a front-row seat to Megan’s creativity, drive, and absolute commitment to her craft. She’s the kind of person who doesn’t just come up with ideas – she follows through, builds them into something tangible, and makes people pay attention. That energy is infectious, and it’s what convinced me that partnering with her to launch a podcast network wasn’t just a good idea, it was the only idea.
What keeps us connected is more than just business. Our relationship is built on a shared set of values: a belief in the power of women-led media, the importance of amplifying voices that might otherwise be overlooked, and the joy of creating work that resonates with audiences in a meaningful way. We both thrive on the thrill of production, the storytelling process, and the satisfaction of seeing a concept come to life in people’s ears. That alignment has created a foundation of trust and respect that makes everything else possible.
Megan and I also share traits that make this partnership work – we’re both hardworking, ambitious, and have a bit of a perfectionist streak when it comes to getting things right. At the same time, our strengths balance each other out. Megan has a bold creative vision, an instinct for what will capture attention, and a knack for pushing boundaries, while I bring structure, technical detail, and a steady focus on operations and delivery. Together, those differences are as valuable as the traits we share.
Ultimately, the reason Megan and I are still side by side in this journey is simple: we respect each other, we believe in what we’re building, and we genuinely enjoy the work. That combination makes the long hours and inevitable challenges not just manageable, but worthwhile.
Megan Pustetto:
Alex and I kept crossing paths in the podcasting and reality TV world through a bunch of serendipitous connections. From the moment we met, it was obvious she was sharp, passionate about podcasting, and full of brilliant ideas.
I immediately asked her to help with a few things on So Dramatic!. At the time, I was running everything solo. Handing over control isn’t exactly my strong suit, but with Alex, it was different.
She has the skills, the insight, and the instincts to help me take things to the next level – plus heart and humour that shine through in everything she touches.
I’d always dreamed of elevating So Dramatic! but didn’t have the bandwidth or manpower. Meeting Alex was a turning point. I knew she was the person to help make that happen. Our partnership works because we complement each other perfectly. Where I think big and creatively, Alex brings technical execution and precision. She’s a production nerd through and through: endlessly resourceful, detail-oriented, and always finding a way to make things happen. Backend systems, tech fixes, production logistics, whatever it is, she handles it all so I can focus on content, creative direction, strategy and dream up big ideas.
Our relationship is built on mutual respect and a shared vision. We both care deeply about women-led media, amplifying underrepresented voices, and creating smart, addictive, and unapologetically bold audio. That shared vision keeps us aligned even when building a business from scratch gets messy.
We also share personality traits that sync beautifully: ambition, dedication, and a relentless commitment to quality. Alex balances my impulsive, big-picture energy with steadiness and thoughtfulness, and I push boundaries to keep us moving forward. Together, that combination makes us stronger than we would be alone.
In short, together we’ve built the network we both wish we’d had – one made for the creators we admire, doing the content we’ve always wanted to hear.
