Eardrum’s hoax Strepsils calls shortlisted for Radio Lions
Eardrum’s cheeky campaign for Strepsils – which saw callers to Sydney talk radio stations drop the name of the cough product into the conversation – has been shortlisted for the Radio Lions category at Cannes.
Meanwhile, Sydney agency Jay Grey has had the best showing of the shortlisted agencies in the category.
The agency’s work for 4 Pines Brewing Company, produced by Plush, has been shortlisted five times.
Other Australian contenders include 303 Group’s Harley Davidson Blackline ad which was produced by Stellar Sound. 303 was also shortlisted for an ad for WA’s Office of Road Safety.
And Eardrum was also the production house behind Three Drunk Monkeys’ double shortlisted ad for Ikea.
US Sydney’s work for SBS programme Immigration Nation, produced by Nylon Studios, has also been shortlisted.
The winners of the Radio Lions are announced early on Wednesday, Sydney time.

Wasn’t a fan of them then, still not, Lion or not. What did they get, 8 calls through to a few stations?

The calls were entertaining, but was it an actual hoax?
2GB’s Chris Smith seems to drop Strepsils into the conversation quite frequently ………
