Earthflight debut fails to fly for Nine
The debut of Earthflight, a show about the lives of birds, rated with 587,000 viewers for Nine last night.
The show was soundly beaten in the 7.30pm time slot by My Kitchen Rules on Seven, which was the only non-news show to rate more than 1m viewers in another dreary Thursday for television viewing.
The ABC’s drama The Straits has held steady, rating with 524,000 – almost the same audience as last week.
The Biggest Loser was Ten’s top rating show of the night, rating with 684,000 in the 7pm time slot.
But it was beaten by Home & Away on Seven, which was the second most-watched non-news show with just shy of 1m viewers.
It was a good night for digital channel GO!, which won more than 6% audience share thanks to hit feel-good movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off pulling in 291,000.

Why did Earthflight in Australia have 60 Minutes’s Charles Wooley narrating when the BBC original has David Tennant ? Very strange !
Some good close up footage but a lot of ridiculous superimposing of birds on different backgrounds.
