Edelman adds Parkyoung staff to Melbourne team
PR agency Edelman has widened its national footprint by folding Melbourne agency Parkyoung into its operation.
The move will see Trevor Young, David Park and Kimberley Lee all join the staff of Edelman’s Melbourne office, bringing it up to a headcount of 15.
Young, who writes the PR Warrior blog, will also become Edelman’s national director of strategy and innovation, while Park – a former corporate affairs boss as Foster’s Group – becomes director of corporate for Edelman Melbourne.
Edelman Australia CEO Michelle Hutton delcined to say whether Edelman had bought Parkyoung. She in a statement: “We’re delighted to be welcoming our new colleagues into Edelman Australia. We’re pleased to be investing in senior hires. Today’s announcement reflects the momentum we’re building in the market.“Our Melbourne business is important for our national footprint and we’ll continue to invest in expanding our national reach.”
The moves comes less than two years after the launch of Parkyoung.
Is this good news for the PR Warrior? Seemed as though doing his own thing as Park Young was going well. Another small business last to a global PR giant?

Australia is evidently a market that Edelman globally is now taking fairly seriously. Big move guys, congratulations!
