Edelman’s big year continues with eBay win

PR agency Edelman has continued its winning streak under its new leadership by picking up eBay as a retained client.

The appointment follows project work carried out by the agency for eBay earlier in the year including the launch of its Online Business Index. It also follows similar alignments between eBay and Edelman in other markets.

Edelman has been on a strong run under the  new leadership of CEO Michelle Hutton who took the helm after leaving WPP’s Hill & Knowlton. WPP is currently involved in a legal dispute with Hutton alleging she breached contractual obligations.

Other recent Edelman wins have included Samsung, EA Mobile and Johnson & Johnson.

Daniel Feiler, director of communications for eBay Asia Pacific said: “The Edelman Australia team inherently understands our brand, our business challenges and our communications objectives in the local market. We look forward to partnering with them to help tell our story of evolution to Australia’s leading online shopping destination for brand new goods, as well as the impact of eCommerce in Australia.”

Alexandra Kelly, Edelman’s Sydney GM said: “We’re excited to add the global online retail market leader to our local portfolio – it’s testament to the great talent we have managed to attract to Edelman.”
