Edge announces series of creative hires and promotions

Content agency Edge has hired Camden Chan as copywriter and Liam Seymour as art director, as part of a series of new hires.

The announcement:

Creative content agency Edge has further expanded their creative department with several new hires.

Camden Chan and Liam Seymour team up and join Edge as Copywriter and Art Director respectively, working across the agency’s major accounts including AAMI, Nulon, VW and Petbarn.

Chan, formerly at Ogilvy, The Works, and Grey, has created campaigns for Optus and Android Pay. Seymour’s career has taken him through Y&R and Leo Burnett, and his work includes campaigns for Woolworths, Jim Beam, and Cronulla Sharks which was shortlisted at Cannes Lions and Clio.

Nick Snelling also joins as Head of Content, overseeing the agency’s robust editorial and social media team across all brands. Prior to Edge, Snelling was Head of Content at Magnum and Co, and Hill+Knowlton, strategising and conceptualising multi-channel ideas. Snelling is also a screenwriter and film director since graduating with Distinction from AFTRS.

Recent editorial hire, Jillian Lewis, has been promoted to Managing Editor after a string of successes on both AAMI and LendLease projects. Lewis will work closely with Snelling to continue to grow the agency’s editorial capabilities while expanding her own responsibilities across film content.

Edge’s design capabilities have also expanded with the appointment of Kate McKinnon as Designer. McKinnon was previously at Bauer Media where she worked on Australian Geographic.

The new creative hires all report directly to ECD Matt Batten who joined the agency in August last year, returning to Sydney from nearly 4 years in London.

The new hires continue the agency’s recruitment of talent from big agencies as Edge builds on its established content offering with both specialist skills and broader brand-building experience.

“Building up a creative department and bringing in great new talent is always a buzz,” says Batten. “I look forward to learning even more from these talented people.”
