Edge expands media team after new client wins

Edge has appointed several new senior positions in its media team after client wins such as BE Sydney, Youth Hostels Australia and Seagrass Hospitality Group.

The announcement:

On the back of several new wins in early 2022, Edge welcomes a number of new faces to its media team to help service its growing media business.

Ryan Johnstone joins as media director to lead the planning and buying team and work alongside Caitlin Ammann, Edge’s panning director. Ryan joins Edge after stints at Starcom, L’Atelier by Group M, Slingshot and Hyland, working on clients like LVMH, Brown Forman, Epson, Sanitarium, Amgen Pharmaceuticals, and Coty.

Anushka Khemka comes aboard as senior media executive, after working in a number of client-side roles for the likes of Compare Club and Bath & Body Works.

And Kate McGregor joins as media executive after impressing during her participation in Edge’s intern program last year.

Edge recently won the media accounts for BE Sydney, Youth Hostels Australia, Seagrass Hospitality Group and Steadfast Group.

Edge has been building out its media service for a number of years as part of its focus on integrating its core disciplines of creative, content and connections. According to the agency, this approach has delivered dividends for clients including Auto One, Releaseit, Premium Content Alliance and Nevro.

Edge executive planning director and partner, Richard Parker, who heads the strategy and media teams at Edge commented: “The timing of Ryan’s arrival is perfect. He brings experience across traditional and digital, B2B and B2C, and a hunger to challenge the way media agencies currently do business. As the media world becomes more data-driven and digitally traded, we hope to shape a modern offering that is more integrated, flexible and efficient for our clients.”

In Ryan’s words: “Edge’s media offering is growing, and this offers me an opportunity to lead and grow a team. I wanted to work in a leading independent agency where I can carve out my own future and help shape how the media team delivers for our clients. I’m looking forward to doing some great work with the rest of the team.”

Parker continued, “Overall, we are expecting a big year ahead after some solid early wins.”
