Elmo Software appoints new CMO

Mei Ching Koon
HR technology company Elmo Software has appointed former Squiz CMO Mei Ching Koon as its chief marketing officer.
Koon will be tasked with shaping the company’s marketing strategy in collaboration with the executive team. Prior to working at Squiz, she was senior director of product and customer marketing at Site Minder. She has held various executive positions across software and enterprise technology businesses.
Elmo was founded in 2002, and currently has over 2,500 Australian business clients.
“It’s a privilege to join another home-grown Australian SAAS [software as a service] success story,” Koon said in a media release announcing her appointment.
“I’m energised by the opportunity to serve the HR community with Elmo. As the rise of AI profoundly impacts talent, career pathways, and workforce transformation, we are at a pivotal point in time where HR leaders stand firmly at the centre of these shifts.”
Koon said Elmo is “uniquely positioned to help customers shift from responsive management to proactive intelligence and automation” during this period of industry upheaval.
“I’m excited to join a company that challenges the status quo, obsesses over its customers, and has the vision and courage to shape the future of work,” she added.
Elmo’s CEO Joseph Lyons, said Koon has “outstanding experience transforming marketing and GTM [go-to market] functions, and building teams that deliver measurable impact.
“She is a problem solver with a strong strategic mindset and will be a valuable partner to our leadership and marketing teams.”
Koon’s appointment follows the company’s recent promotion of Ramesh Thiagalingam, to vice president of machine learning operations and platform engineering.
Mei brings the fresh perspective, energy and drive we need to continue supporting the 2,500 ANZ-based organisations that rely on ELMO today, while positioning us strongly for the future.
