dentsu’s Emma Hegg returns to oOh!Media as group director of platforms

oOh!Media has appointed dentsu’s head of out-of-home, Emma Hegg, to the newly created role of group director – platforms, commencing in July this year.

Hegg will return to the out-of-home media company after a five year stint with dentsu, where she has managed a team of specialist out of home planners, leading commercial relationships, building innovative products that leveraged technology and data, as well as sitting on the Outdoor Futures Council. Prior to dentsu, Hegg worked at oOh!Media for over seven years.

The new appointment will bolster oOh!’s product strategy team, with Hegg responsible for creating business models that align with agency data strategies.  She will leverage her experience to connect agency and client segments as oOh! continues to implement its audience led strategy into client focused platforms as part of the ongoing transformation to a digitally enabled media company. In addition, Hegg will also drive oOh!’s programmatic strategy.

The role will see her report to Robbie Dery, chief commercial and product officer at oOh!, who said: “Emma is one of the most experienced out of home operators in media with a strong track record of driving business and client value across both agency and out of home. We continue to attract the smartest industry practitioners at a time when our industry is returning to growth and undergoing significant change and I’m delighted that someone with Emma’s knowledge and expertise has returned to oOh!”

Hegg added: “To be part of the biggest and best out of home media business, where I know there to be such amazing and ambitious talent, working toward a collective goal of sector growth, is somewhere I knew I had to be. From starting my career at Network Outdoor (now oOh!media) many years ago, it feels I’ve done a full circle to be coming back to oOh! The business has grown and changed so much; but still has the ambition to be even better. I can’t wait to join Robbie and the team to support the continued transformation of out of home within a business I admire so much.”

Dery added: “As the business continues to grow, we will continue to bring the best people to oOh!, supporting our ambitious plans as Australia’s leading out of home media company.”

Last month oOh!Media’s chief financial officer Sheila Lines announced her resignation after four years with the out-of-home company. Lines is set to depart oOh! at the end of the year.
