Emma Nolan becomes New Idea editor in chief

Seven West Media owned Pacific Magazines has promoted Emma Nolan to the role of editor in chief at celebrity news magazine, New Idea.

Nolan is currently the editor of another Pac Mags celebrity news and entertainment weekly magazine, Who.

Nolan will continue to work with Who until a replacement is appointed

Pac Mags is currently recruiting to find a replacement for Nolan.

Nolan joined Who in 2017 after 15 years as the editor in chief at Bauer Media’s TV Week.

In January, Frances Sheen exited New Idea to focus on her family, leaving general manager of entertainment and family at Pac Mags, Louisa Hatfield to fill the editing responsibilities.

“With a multi-platform footprint of more than 5 million every month, New Idea’s power to entertain and connect with a huge community of Australian women is stronger than ever.

“Emma has strong commercial credentials, great creative vision and a powerful reputation for growing brands. I couldn’t think of a smarter and more talented journalist to take the helm of our flagship brand and evolve it into the future,” Hatfield said in a statement.

“This is such an exciting time for New Idea and I look forward to making a key role in the brand’s continued multi-platform growth. The opportunity to work with the incredibly talented and creative team here is a privilege,” Nolan added.
