Employment Hero inverts The Tortoise and the Hare in latest campaign
In its latest campaign, HR software platform Employment Hero has reimagined a classic fable to emphasise its capabilities as a faster, modern tool for businesses.
Employment Hero’s newest creative work positions its purple and white rabbit mascot — which was introduced in March this year — as the Hare from Aesop’s tale, The Tortoise and the Hare.
This time around, it’s the Hare who gets the better of the Tortoise. The 30-second spot shows the Tortoise as a stressed, overworked office worker whose outdated, slow hiring processes are wholly ineffective compared to the software provider’s Employment Operating System (EOS). Eventually, the traditional methods prove to be too much for the Tortoise, who abandons them and joins the rabbit to embrace Employment Hero’s offering.
Developed by Hero Collective — the company’s in-house creative agency — the creative, which focuses on speed, AI matching, instant matches and hassle-free workflows, is being deployed through social media, BVOD, digital, OOH and radio channels across Australia, particularly within high-traffic commuter spaces “and high-attention digital environments”.
In a release shared on Monday morning, Employment Hero’s global marketing director, Tasman Page, explained that the brand’s rabbit mascot served as a valuable tool to shake up a space that “is traditionally a dry topic for SMBs”.
“We wanted to really challenge the role of the Rabbit to speak to one of the most problematic parts of running a business – which is hiring in a high stakes economy – to demonstrate that outdated, ‘slow and steady’ methods of recruitment no longer cut it,” Page said in the release.
“Our hiring solutions, including our market-leading AI powered SmartMatch technology, represent the future of hiring, so what better way to bring this to life by rewriting a 2600 year old story.
“Having an in-house team means we can walk the walk; leveraging a suite of AI creative tools across the Hero Collective for this campaign saved us countless hours – just like our recruitment solutions do for SMBs.”
