Ex-Gogglebox star Yvie Jones to join Fox FM

Fox FM has announced Yvie Jones, ex-Gogglebox star and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here contestant as the replacement for Fifi Box when she heads out on maternity leave.

Jones will join Brendan Fevola and Byron Cooke on Fifi, Fev and Byron which sits in the breakfast slot for Fox FM in Melbourne.

Jones was announced as the replacement this morning on air, after Box announced earlier in the year she would be leaving on maternity leave later in 2019.

Fox FM content director Amanda Lee said Jones was the easy choice for the role.

“We are so elated Fifi is fulfilling her deep wish for another addition to her gorgeous family. Finding someone to keep her seat warm while she enjoys time with her newborn was easy when we met Yvie,” said Lee.

“The chemistry she has with fellow Jungle Mate Fev was obvious when we first heard them together.”

Jones came to prominence after appearance on Gogglebox

Jones will join the show after the July mid-year Survey break.

“Yvie has an effortless warmth and humour to her and she is an honest, open book. That’s what our show is about; we share so much with our listeners and it’s a privilege to be such an intimate part of their lives too. They are going to love her,” said Lee.

Fifi, Fev and Byron is currently tied as the number one FM breakfast show in Melbourne with Smooth’s Jennifer Hanson and Mike Perso.

The announcement for Jones’ foray into radio comes as her Gogglebox co-star Angie Kent was named the next Bachelorette for Ten. Her season will air later in the year.
