Ex-Mamamia marketing leader joins Australian Pork as CMO
Australian Pork Limited has taken on the former Mamamia group director of marketing and partner solutions to act as its new chief marketing officer.
Rob Farmer took to LinkedIn on Friday morning to share the news of his new appointment.
“I’m delighted to have joined Australian Pork Limited as CMO, helping to grow the success of this world-class product domestically and internationally,” Farmer wrote in his post, before quoting the pork company’s famous tagline, “Get some pork on your fork!”
Prior to his new position, Farmer served as a director for marketing consultancy The Inside Out. And before that, he spent more than five years at Mamamia in the above mentioned role, overseeing a range of marketing duties, including B2B and B2C marketing, all-category revenue and effectiveness growth, and more.

The marketing professional, whose career began in the 1990s as an account manager at Publicis Groupe in London, began the Australian chapter of his career in October 2011, serving as a marketing director at the Foxtel Group for just over six years.
Mumbrella has reached out to Australian Pork for comment.
Farmer’s announcement comes over a month after his new employer revitalised its tagline through a campaign with independent creative agency, Dig. – a project that aimed to raise awareness of how pork is a viable substitute when cooking.
As the agency’s creative director, Owen Bryson, told Mumbrella at the time: “Australian Pork essentially stands for offering a tasty twist to the everyday. So we had to remind people that its a good substitute.”
“The basic brief was about making pork top of mind, and adding value to the longstanding line of ‘get some pork on your fork.’”

Very happy to see a Farmer in the hot seat.
After hiring marketing & advertising types in the CMO role for decades, it’s exciting to see the pork body turn to its constituency for once. There’ll be nobody better for the meat grinder, that’s for sure…
Do us proud, Rob!
