Ex-Samsung CMO takes on Colonial First State chief customer officer role
Former Samsung Australia chief marketing officer, Josh Grace, has ended his sabbatical by joining Colonial First State (CFS) as chief customer officer.
In a LinkedIn post on Sunday, Grace said: “A bit late to the party with this as there has been so much to do. The sabbatical is over. I have taken on a new role position as group executive – customer office at Colonial First State.
“Want to thank the team for welcoming me and working so hard to change things up, as we transform both the business and our customer office.”

Before coming to Samsung in 2018, Grace was the regional marketing officer, APAC for Abbott, a global healthcare company. Prior to that, he spent over ten years with Leo Burnett in the agency’s Sydney and Singapore offices, wrapping up his time as the managing director.
Grace told Mumbrella: “Colonial First State has a wonderful heritage brand and I’m excited to have joined at a time when we’re on a real growth trajectory with our shareholders CBA and KKR very committed to seeing us win in market. There’s so much great activity already underway, indeed CFS was just named as one of the six broadcast partners to SBS’s hosting of the World Cup which starts on 20 November.”
“The category is one I understand well and it feels like a natural evolution for me into this role given I had managed CFS as one of my client accounts for ten years when I was working agency side.
“There’s great opportunity ahead of us as I see CFS as a bit of an untapped brand that Australians have a latent love for. I want to make sure I can bring to life the changing customer experience that we’re building which is built on a promise of great investment choice at competitive rates for all Australians.”
CFS has recently brought in Speed as its full-service media agency, ending its relationship with Essence.
The wealth management group also launched its first work via creative agency It’s Friday earlier this year.
