Ex Sunday Telegraph editor Jeni O’Dowd joins the Telegraph

Jeni O'Dowd TelegraphFormer Sunday Telegraph editor Jeni O’Dowd has joined the Daily Telegraph as editor-at-large, with a brief to help market the paper.  

O’Dowd, who became the Sunday Tele’s editor in 1999 and spent seven years there, was most recently News Ltd’s group editorial innovations manager where she worked on initiatives such as the Pride Of Australia awards and on the company’s food publishing strategy.

The announcement came from News Ltd editorial director Campbell Reid. He said: “Jeni is an exceptional executive with first-class editorial instincts that are vital – and perfect – for our ambitious plans at The Daily Telegraph.”

Daily Telegraph editor Garry Linnell said one of O’Dowd’s focuses would be on national features. He said: “It’s an honour to have her on board.”

O’Dowd said: “It feels instinctive to get back to the coalface of doing what I love.”
