Extreme weather events form the centrepiece of Suncorp’s new storm season campaign

Suncorp is taking Queenslanders on a trip through the state’s worst extreme weather events in recent history as a reminder of the threat of storm season.

The Suncorp storm season campaign is a staple in the brand’s marketing mix, paying homage to its roots in Queensland and alerting its customers in the state of the importance of being prepared for the worst.

Last year’s storm season campaign featured former NRL star Johnathan Thurston, but this year’s ad takes a different approach, contrasting the laidback Queensland lifestyle with some of the state’s biggest storm disasters.

The campaign also continues on the ‘That’s the Suncorp spirit’ brand platform which launched earlier this year.

Suncorp EGM of brand and marketing, Mim Haysom, said: “We know natural disasters and climate change are an ever present problem. And we know in recent years, almost half of Queensland homeowners have admitted they’ve done nothing to prepare for storm season meaning underinsurance remains one of the state’s largest problems.

“In our latest campaign, we aim to drive home the importance of protecting Queensland families and communities with the help of a local insurance partner that understands their needs.”

The campaign is now running across TV, digital, radio, print and social.
