Ketut makes surprise appearance in AAMI’s latest ‘Not Very Insurancey’ ad

AAMI’s well-loved character Ketut has made a cameo in a new ad for the brand’s Not Very Insurancey campaign, with the well loved character re-appearing as a gnome.

Created by Ogilvy Melbourne, ‘Nan’ and her family show off the gnomes they have purchased after saving money by varying excess on their home insurance with AAMI’s flexi-premium offering.

Nan’s gnome, who she says “everyone loves” is wearing Ketut’s famous golden hat, from the first ads out of the brand’s Ronda and Ketut series.

Last month, the campaign saw a nan raving in the garage and two drag queens breaking down on their way to Broken Hill. ‘Queen of the desert’ followed on from Roadside Assist’s ‘Up Ship Creek’ ad from January this year.

At the time of their launch, Michelle Martinis, executive brand and marketing manager at AAMI said the new characters and colours aimed to deliver insurance messages in an identifiable and enjoyable way.

The ‘Not Very Insurancey’ campaign has run since December 2015 and followed on from the ‘Easier Way to Save’ campaign which replaced the Rhonda and Ketut ads.
