February podcast rankings see 43m downloads, Casefile True Crime #1

Audioboom’s Casefile True Crime podcast has reclaimed the #1 spot as the most downloaded podcast in the country in February according to new data released by Triton Digital.

The previous month it was pipped by Stuff You Should Know, from ARN/iHeartMedia, which dropped down to second in February.

Nine’s podcast Please Explain from The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age was the highest new entry on the Top 100 Podcasts in Australia for the month of February coming in at #25.

Meanwhile, The Marty Sheargold Show on Triple M Melbourne from Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) was the most improved for the period, up 48 places to #45. However, it was not all good news for SCA, which saw its podcast The National Briefing drop 51 sports to #74.

Total downloads of all shows for participating publishers in the month of February was 43 million, slightly up from the 40.2 million in January.

Last month’s highest new debut, the Betoota Daily News Bulletin from Diamantina ARN/ iHeartPodcast Network dropped 16 spots down to #43.

I Catch Killers with Gary Jubelin from News Corp and Nova also suffered a significant drop, down 26 placed to #54.

The Kyle & Jackie O show continues to be the highest ranked radio-catch up podcast, coming in at #3.
