Final entries for the Mumbrella Publish Awards due this week

Entries for the Mumbrella Publish Awards will close at midnight, Friday August 21.

There are 32 categories spanning editorial, sales, design and business, across print and online, with awards for teams and individuals. This year’s awards also include a special category to recognise the industry’s best response to COVID-19.

For 2020 only, the submission process does not require physical copies of print titles to be submitted. This is to make entry simpler while many offices are still either only open part-time or not open at all.

In addition, the price of entry has been significantly discounted from 2019, while individuals who were affected by redundancy in 2020 may be eligible for complimentary entry.

News Corp’s taste.com.au won Brand of the Year in 2019. The Publish Awards will be held online in 2020.

Last year News Corp Australia took home seven awards, with its food website, taste.com.au, earning Brand of the Year. Content agency Medium Rare gained four awards including Designer of the Year for Kate Barnett, while Bauer Media’s Jane Waterhouse was named Publish Leader of the Year.

Nine won three awards, including Editor of the Year for nine.com.au’s Simon King and Special Edition of the Year for The AFR, while The Australian Women’s Weekly’s Genevieve Gannon was awarded Journalist of the Year.

For the safety of the industry, the award winners will be announced in a virtual ceremony on November 5.
