Final push for MAYDAY adspace auction

Advertisers and media buyers have until next Friday August 6 to support this year’s Media Assisting Youth (MAYDAY) industry charity fund raising drive, by bidding on donated advertising inventory.

The announcement:

27 July 2010: Marketers and advertising buyers wanting to join the MAYDAY movement that represents the collective conscience of the media industry, have less than three weeks to bid for over 30 exceptional media packages sponsored by Australia’s leading media owners.

MAYDAY has raised over $2 million in cash over the past three years for under-privileged young people in our community, and this year thanks to the generosity of the media industry over $1 million of media has been pledged.

MAYDAY founder Kerry McCabe said: “This is set to be our best year yet. We are amazed with the amount of support we’ve received so far given media avails are quite tight, we now just need advertisers to jump on board to ensure a record result.”

Advertisers and buyers have the chance until August 6th to secure prime advertising space with media brands including all free to air and pay TV operators, leading online publishers and market leaders in each of the radio, OOH and print sectors (full list below).

Winning bidders will be announced at the exclusive annual MAYDAY event, to be held at Merivale’s Hemmesphere in Sydney, on August 18th from 6pm. In MAYDAY tradition, an impressive entertainment line-up have donated their talent to the event, featuring MC Mikey Robins, Potbelleez performing their new hit single “Hello,” and a performance by Australia’s Got Talent Winners Justice Crew and Australian Idol Winner 2009 Stan Walker. MAYDAY has selected six amazing organisations to support: Oasis Youth Support Services, KidsXpress, Rare Earth Foundation, South Sydney Youth Services, Fighting Chance and Carevan Foundation.

MAYDAY partner sponsors, Hourigan International are working with MAYDAY to launch the new MAYDAY marketing mentor program, to assist the not-for-profit partners build their brands and assure sustainability by developing their own innovative fundraising and sponsorship programs.
