Final Sound launches audio competition for its 10th birthday

Sound studio Final Sound is launching a competition to find sound projects which “help make the world a better place”.

The winner will receive two days of studio time as well as resources and connections with industry professionals.

The announcement:

The Final Sound 10-year Yin-yangiversary project. Working with good people is always a pleasure. And over the 10 wonderful years that Final Sound has been in business, we’ve worked with a cornucopia of beautiful souls who are as lovely as they are talented.

During this time we’ve also learned that sometimes good people are asked to do bad things. And then those good people ask us to help.

So, to make up for the odd bit of evil we’ve been a part of over the journey, we’re celebrating 10 years of mostly well intentioned, beautifully executed work by offering up our expertise and equipment to an idea created solely for good. In other words, seeking forgiveness from the universe by making the world a better place.

It’s our way of addressing that little bit of darkness with a lot of extra light.

The Final Sound 10-year Yin-yangiversary project.

We’re looking for audio projects that help make the world a better place. It could be a radio campaign, an audiobook, protest song or soundtrack – anything that we as professional sound recording guys can bring to life.

The winner will receive two full days of studio time plus any other resources and favours we can pull in from other good people we know and love. Submissions can be made in any way you see fit. But they need to be accompanied by a written description so we can sort everything out and award a winner.

Send your entries to: yinyang@finalsound.com.au by Monday September 11, 2017. The winner will be announced on Friday September 29, 2017

You might have a cracking idea burning a hole in your bottom drawer, or you might have a brain fart on the way home tonight. If it aims to make the world a better place, we’d love to help you make it a reality!
