First Dates drops quarter of its audience but Seven remains dominant thanks to MKR

Seven’s dating show First Dates came back down to earth last night losing 250,000 viewers on last week’s outing to pull 735,000 viewers.

Channel Seven dominated the evening with My Kitchen Rules managing an audience of 1.437m, although that was also down by 250,000 viewers on the week before. MKR and First Dates were also one and two in all ad demographics.

Again Nine’s The Big Bang Theory beat Ten’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!, managing 783,000 for a new episode at 7:30pm and 710,000 for a repeat at 8:00pm, with Celebrity pulling 694,000 – up on 688,000 a week prior.

In news Seven topped the night with 1.008m for its 6:00pm bulletin, and 967,000 for Today Tonight and the 6:30pm bulletin, while Nine had 922,000 at 6:00pm and 941,000 at 6:30pm, according to OzTAM’s overnight metro ratings.

ABC’s best entertainment shot was Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery which had 558,000 viewers at 8:00pm.

Seven managed 26.1% audience share ahead of Nine’s 18.5%, Ten’s 12.5% and ABC’s 11.1%.
