FleishmanHillard wins Cathay Pacific’s public relations account

Public relations agency FleishmanHillard has been appointed to Cathay Pacific’s PR account, following a competitive four-way pitch process, Mumbrella can reveal.

The appointment will see the agency cover the airline’s brand campaigns, crisis and issues management.

Nelson Chin, general manager of Cathay Pacific Southwest Pacific, said: “We were impressed by Fleishman’s creative thinking, coupled with the agency’s strong consumer and corporate expertise.

“We’re sold on the team’s vision and look forward to creating stand-out work that grows the Cathay Pacific brand in Australia,” he said.

Jenna Orme, general manager of FleishmanHillard, said: “Aviation is an incredibly competitive space – one in which every dollar counts and every PR action needs to be linked to a tangible business outcome.

“We’re delighted to be working with Cathay Pacific and look forward to both protecting and enhancing the brand’s reputation in Australia,” she said in a statement.

FleishmanHillard is assuming the account from incumbent agency The D’arcy Partnership which chose not to participate in the pitch process.

Medical software and information provider MedicalDirector, also recently appointed FleishmanHillard to its public relations account.

Following the two new client wins, the agency has promoted Kate Scanlon to senior account manager and Jessica Cheney and Samantha Drummond to account managers.

FleishmanHillard was recently highly commended for the Best B2C Campaign award at Mumbrella’s CommsCon Awards and won Best Influencer Strategy, and is now recruiting a senior corporate specialist and consumer PR account manager.

Orme said: “Ensuring staff satisfaction and providing growth opportunities remains a huge priority. As the agency grows, we continue to recognise the hard work and dedication of both new and existing team members.”

Other clients of FleishmanHillard include Johnson & Johnson, Philips, Fitbit and Bose.
