Mall makes walk-in-wardrobe out of chocolate
In a publicity stunt to bring in shoppers, Adelaide shopping mall Rundle Place has flown in UK food artist Prudence Staite to build a life-sized walk-in-wardrobe made out of chocolate.
Staite, who owns Food Is Art, and a team of Adelaide artists, started work on the project on March 12, and will open it to the public on Thursday.
“Rundle Place is a shopping complex like no other as is reflected in the everything we’ve set out to do – from elements of the design of the complex itself with little touches such as a croquet pitch themed dining area in ‘77’ our food court, through to our advertising campaign and of course staging the block party,” said Justin Dangerfield, Rundle Place centre manager.
100kg of dark and milk chocolate and 150kg of white chocolate were supplied by FruChocs to create shoes, hats and bags.
The wardrobe will be opened on level 1 of the new Rundle Place shopping mall at 77 Rundle Mall.
Prefer it if Haigs had supplied the chocolate!

Take something delicious and turn it into something that’s not only unusable but also guarantees there’s no way you’d ever want to eat it.
Sounds like Rundle Mall to me.
I guess it was either that or have a Festival of Neck Tattoos.

How long is the display going to be there? I can’t find anywhere on the internet that gives this information. Very frustrating…hope that I don’t miss out on seeing it! Sounds awesome.
