Footy Show delivers for Nine… and for Rusty’s sponsors
Actor Russell Crowe may have turned it into little more than an extended plug for the sponsors of his club – virtually every one of them – but the return of the Footy Show still delivered for Nine last night.
With viewers also tuning in for the latest on the Brett Stewart scandal, the show racked up an audience of 1.1m, according to preliminary OzTam figures. At one stage the programme became something of a plugfest with Crowe reading out a long list of South Sydney sponsors.
It took Nine to a win for the night and leaves the channel virtually neck-and-neck with Seven for the week so far.
Last night: Nine 30.7%; Seven 26.4%; Ten 22%; ABC 16.2%; SBS 4.6%

Good to have the show back, but Crowe is kinda shameless.

Fatty Vautin’s solemn plea to camera for better behaviour, on behalf of the game of rugby league, right at the very start of the program, was quite compelling viewing.
