The former media executive will join the bank in February, taking on the role of executive general manager – small business.

The bank confirmed Clark’s appointment to Mumbrella.

“Angela Clark will join the team at the Retail Bank at CBA as the executive general manager small business,” a spokesperson said.

“CBA’s Retail Banking division services more than 500,000 small business customers by providing in-person expertise via the country’s most extensive branch network as well as market-leading digital technology and products.”

The media executive who has also played a role in a number of start-ups was lured to the ABC in 2012 by former CEO Mark Scott.

Clark left the ABC in September, having led the innovation team for four years which included overseeing the development of the ABCs technology and online approach including its iView on demand service.

In a blog on her LinkedIn page, Clark said she was confident she had helped position the ABC strongly in the fast-moving digital world.

“The ABC today is a vastly different world to the one I stepped into when the former CEO Mark Scott first persuaded me to trade my ‘media start-ups’ focus to lead ABC’s digital innovation division,” Clark wrote.

“In 2012, the ABC was just setting out on the ambitious and rewarding journey of digital transformation. As 2016 draws to a close, and with the ABC’s digital performance hitting a new record in July, with over 46% of all Australians online using ABC digital services, I’m confident the ABC is on the right path.

“Digital is now front and centre of the ABC’s strategy, ensuring its enduring relevance in the service of Australians.”

Clarke is also a former CEO of out-of-home company JCDecaux and is currently a director of the Festival of Sydney.
