Former Bauer publisher Peter Holder appointed acting MD of Daily Mail Australia

Peter HolderFormer Bauer Media publisher Peter Holder has been named as the acting managing director of the Daily Mail Australia replacing Mikaela Lancaster who is understood to be moving to Asia, Mumbrella has learned.

Holder previously headed Bauer’s joint publications with Hearst Media International (HMI) which included the likes of Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar and Madison.

His appointment on a six month contract is understood to have been revealed to staff there yesterday. 

Holder will oversee sales, marketing and operations for Daily Mail Australia while editor Luke McIlveen will continue to oversee editorial.

Prior to his role running Bauer/Hearst’s joint ventures Holder was publisher at Australian Consolidated Press during which time he ran Woman’s Day, TV Week, Take 5, OK!, NW, CLEO, Dolly, Shop ’til You Drop, Rolling Stone, Empire, Men’s Style, Zoo, People and The Picture.

His experience also includes being the launch editor for Sydney Confidential, founding editor of GQ Australia and Men’s Style.
