Former Edelman leader Michelle Hutton announces her next move

Michelle Hutton has revealed her next move, after announcing her departure from Edelman in June.

She joins WPP’s global communications agency BCW as global chief client and growth officer.

Hutton will work with global and regional leadership, and will become a member of the executive committee and global board.

“The news is out. I’m thrilled to be joining Corey duBrowa and his team at BCW Global,” Hutton wrote in a LinkedIn post.

“To contribute to the growth of the global business and legacy that the late Harold Burson started is such an honour. Can’t wait to get started.”

BCW CEO, Corey duBrowa, said: “Michelle has an impeccable track record of exceeding client expectations at every turn, both in creativity and in results, which has yielded record and sustained agency growth.

“She will be the perfect partner to our regional leaders in developing new services and solutions for our clients and in embedding a rigorous focus on quality and client satisfaction across everything we do.”

She will start the new role on February 5.

In June, Hutton announced her departure from Edelman, after 13 years.

She first joined the agency in 2010 as its national CEO, before holding a number of international roles that saw her relocate to London. Hutton returned to Australia in 2019 as national CEO, then becoming the vice chair of Asia Pacific in 2022.

Just last month, Susan Redden Makatoa, also a former Edelman leader, announced her next move to Morrow Sodali, where she joined as managing director.

Redden Makatoa was made redundant from her role as vice president, head of corporate APAC at Edelman in June.
