Former iiNet CMO Wendy Walker takes regional role with Mindshare

WalkerWendy Walker, the former CMO of broadband provider iiNet, has accepted a regional role with media agency Mindshare as Asia Pacific chief growth officer.

She takes on a brief to boost growth of the media agency as well as run Mindshare’s brand marketing and PR, and will be based out of Singapore.

Walker departed iiNet in May last year with her marketing responsibilities for the company, which had an annual media spend of $24.9m last year, moving over to chief customer officer Maryna Fewster.

Before iiNet, Walker was a marketing director at Telstra, where she ran relationship marketing, B2B and government, international marketing communications, award programs and events.

In her new role she replaces Kevin Rooney, who has moved into a new role as regional MD of new agency brand m/SIX.

Ashutosh Srivastava, chairman for Asia at Mindshare, said: “We are delighted to welcome Wendy into the Mindshare network. Her extensive experience as a senior marketer will provide great insight into how we can even further improve our offering to our clients.

“Her track record of identifying core customer insights and translating those into tangible strategies and results is an ability we plan to leverage across the business. Having worked all her career on the client side, Wendy will no doubt add immense value to our new business prospecting and pitching process, given her understanding of what clients look for from an agency partner.”
